This hall exhibits the various choice handicraft articles
of the Ming and Qing Dynasties. It is divided into six parts: gold and silver articles,
ivory carving, lacquerware, enamelware, silk fabrics and embroidery, and porcelain. Most
of the exhibits were articles for the imperial court. They are a harmonious combination of
lofty elegance with a strong flavor of folkways. The painted bronze figurines unearthed
from Lingbao offer a vivid sight of the various officials of the Ming Dynasty. The
ivory-carved Chinese cabbage and radish and the insects hidden in leaves look so vivid as
to make us wonder whether they are actually genuine ones. The blue and white dish with
interlocking lotus leaves, the globular vase with a design of bats etc. are all choice
porcelain wares of the Ming and Qing Dynasties.
