| Stone quern and roller were used for processing crops. They were unearthed at the Peiligang Culture site at Xinzheng, which dates back to about 8000 years ago. They indicate that agriculture in that Period had already separated itself from the "slash-and-burn" phase, and had entered the stage of hoe-cultivation agriculture. |
