Henan Museum Applied for National Grade Educational Base

Henan Museum has gained praise at home and abroad since it opened to public. In order to make full use of mul-function educational function, Henan museum began to apply for educational base with other units. Now, Henan Museum has applied for 4 national grade educational bases: The Educational Base for Scientific and Technological Innovation Action of China Youth, The Demonstration Base for Education in Patriotism of China, The Educational Base for Education inPopularization of Science of CHina and The Educational Base in Science and Technology for Youngsters. Henan Museum has been formal named to be The Educational Base for Scientific and Technological Innovation Action of China Youth, named by the Youth League Central Committee and the China Youth League. Now, Henan Museum is making preparation for unveiling ceremony. It is reported, Henan Museum will be named to be other educational bases around the end of 1999.

　

The Antiquites Visiting Mission of Taiwan Visited Henan Museum

In the past few days, the Antiquites Visiting Mission of Henan Association of Fellow Provinicals of Taiwan visited Henan Museum. Zhang Wenjun, the curator of Henan Museum, met them. Mr.Zhang praised achievements of Henan Association of Fellow Provinical in protecting cultural relics and introduced Henan Museum to guests. The Visiting Mission gave Album of Antiquites Transported to Taiwan of Henan Province as present to Henan Museum. The album collects catalogue and pirctures of 5000 cultural relics transported to Taiwan of Henan in 1948. Henan Museum gave Selected Documents Concerning Cultural Relics and Archaeology in Henan as present to members of Visiting Mission.

　

　

The College-Student-Service Month Has Successfully Come To The End

Recently the college-student-service month sponsored by Henan Museum has successfully come to the end.This is the first trying for our museum to the particular student-audience, matching with the college education and with the college-military-training, this is also an activity of moral education for the students at university. The main service activities are: favourable ticket, video recoding showing, free-propagating to the freshmen at the camp and so on. During the service month, our museum got in touch with over ten colleges and universities and received over one thousand students. Especially, for the free-propagating at the camping, we have sent more than ten speakers telling stories to the students about the old revolutionists and the good revolutionary tradition, propagating greatly about the patriotism. All of the above activities have won highly appraising both by the teachers and students.

　

Special Academic Report on Archaeology of Song Dynasty

Organized by Learning Committee of Henan Museum on Oct. 28. The reporter was Dr. Sun Xinming, head of Henan Provincial Institute of Archaeology and Cultural Relics. The topic was Song City, Song Mausoleum and Song Porcelain: the Song dynasty Archaeology Discovery of Henan. Dr. Sun introduced the important archaeology discoveries of Song City, mausoleum and porcelain kiln sites of Song dynasty in twenty years. It is a successful academic exchange.
