Abstract: Jade artifacts emerged in the Central Plains in the late Yangshao period, and developed there
during the Second Phase of the Miaodigou Culture as well as the Longshan period. Jade artifacts of the
Central Plains were sourced from the neighboring areas. They were imported from the Longshan and Songze
Cultures during the Yangshao period, the source of which shifted to the Dawenkou Culture during the Second
Phase of the Miaodigou Culture. In the Longshan period, the Shandong Longshan and Shijiahe Cultures
became the main impacts. The transmission route of jade is also the ritual route. By importing jade in the
Neolithic Age, the ritual system of the Central Plains was also developed, which became mature in the Erlitou
period.
