The Cultural Relics Protection Research Center of Henan Museum has set up the "Paper Cultural Relics Protection Base", which was officially established in September 2014. It is the key scientific research base for the protection and training of paper cultural relics of Henan Provincial Administration of Cultural Heritage, and the specialized organization for the scientific research and professional technical personnel training of the protection and restoration of paper cultural relics of Henan Province.

Main responsibilities:
1. Undertaking the basic research and applied technology research on the protection and restoration of paper cultural relics in Henan Province
2. Undertaking the professional training for the protection and restoration technology of paper cultural relics
3. Assisting domestic cultural and museum units in designing and compiling the restoration scheme of important projects.
4. Providing technical consultation to the private institutions and collectors.
5. Undertaking the restoration of calligraphy and painting, rubbings and other paper cultural relics.

At present, the main work in progress includes: the ancient books restoration project of Henan Provincial Institute of Archaeology and the calligraphy and painting restoration project of municipal museums.
