Recently, the "2010 Chinese Folk Instrumental Music Festival" was held in Beijing ,on which the Chinese Guqin performances were highlighted. Mr. Luo Suli, a member player from Henan Huaxia Ancient Music Orchestra won two awards for his excellent performance, and it is the best achievement up to now in the history of the Guqin circle of Henan province.
Guqin is one of the oldest plucked musical instrument in China, with a history of more than 3,000 years, and it ranks the first in the well-known four ancient Chinese liberal arts: music, chess, calligraphy and painting, it used to be a compulsory course in ancient China. However,Guqin art dwindled from Ming and Qing dynasty . Therefore, the revival of Guqin arts is getting more and more important.
Beginning the research and rehearsal of the Guqin from 2002, Huaxia Ancient Music Orchestra put it into the playing list of its daily performance, and it has been appreciated by the audiences from then on.
Mr. Luo Suli, the player, used to be the student of the prominent Guqin researcher and player of China, Mr. Li Mingzhong, Zhang Zisheng. His playing style indicates the elegance and the poetry scene of the ancient Chinese poem.
